Timing Is Everything
Realizing the time has come to sell your home can create
mass confusion. Timing is everything in real estate;
however, for most people, “now is the best time to sell
your home”, some also believe one season is better than
another to sell your home.
Real estate today is a year-round business; generally
speaking, markets tend to have some balance between
buyers and sellers. According to most real estate
professionals, there may be fewer buyers in December,
but there are also likely to be fewer homes available
for purchase. Summer might prove to be more active
(usually in August).
There is no "average" length of time that you can expect
your home to be on the market before it sells. It
depends on many factors - the condition of your home,
the number of similar homes available in your
neighborhood, the season, local economic conditions,
etc. In a buyer's market, for instance, the period of
time between listing and closing may be significantly
longer than that enjoyed in a seller's market. Be sure
to factor this into your timing and plans.
In conclusion, how do you decide which is the best
season to sell? Every season offer some plusses and
minuses. Real estate is an industry of immediacy. It’s
always a good time to sell your home if the price is
right, no matter what the season.
